Revising paintings can bring new inspirations

Last week, I decided to revamp two landscape paintings that I thought were finished in April but felt inspired to make some changes. I have some CLEAR GESSO which is a great product to paint over a varnished painting because you can still see the older painting, make changes and the paint will stick. It leaves a sandpaper feeling on the varnish but allows you to rework the areas you want to revise. I made the Jamaican SUnrise painting to reflect a moonrise which changed the time of day and coloring. The Sun Rays painting was too defined so I did a lot of blending with new colors and overlay glazing.
