Dunes Project: Slightly larger painting

On this 24×24″ gallery wrap called “Dunes Afternoon 24” took on a new palette. I wanted to make my brush strokes larger and use warmer browns and yellows.

Along the shore…

Another smaller painting completed. I wanted to keep the expressionistic feeling with larger brush strokes and energetic touches. “Blue Crab” is 20×16″.
Sometimes, the more I work on a painting, create details and textures, I lose the expressionistic style that I am aiming for. So this one, I called it DONE and am happy with the result.

Sunrise at the Beach inspired painting

Walking on the beach at sunrise and even sometimes in the early evening, pastel colors flood the sky. My goal was to express this idea in a semi abstract painting done with larger brushes and knife. "Pink Sky Morning" is 15x30"

Local Street Scene in Neptune Beach painted

"Shorelines" is 20x16" and depicts a part of First Street in Neptune Beach near our Town Center. The historic Pete's Bar is the business with the yellow awning. Unfortunately, when Hurricane Matthew hit, the awning was toast!

Beach scene painting from photo

The photo I took while photographing a family portrait lead to this painting. I did use a bit of creative license because I wanted the stick fence to show, even though form this angle, its more perpendicular and slightly hidden on the right side. It is 24x24" gallery wrap and ready to hang.

Photographic Textured illustrations with Beach Theme

Here are some recent photo illustrations that I did form my original beach photography. I added texture and tints to express more emotion. Many layers and details added make more interest. Prints available from my website any size. www.linda-olsen.pixels.com

Harvest Moon at the Beach

Thursday Nelson and I went to the beach to watch the full moon come up over the ocean. The Harvest Moon was gorgeous and huge. Friday was actually the Full moon and friends were gathering to watch it with chairs and cocktails and the wind and clouds blew up something fierce. The warm wind blew from the south and actually felt amazing but covered the rise of the moon. After a while, it would peak out just a tad.

Photographs on canvas make beautiful decor

I worked on these fine art photography images for hours tinting them to look like old film by adding yellow to highlights, blues to shadows, and details sharpened. I like looking at the sea form different angles and heights because the flowing textures and designs are amazing.
