Beautiful full moon last week inspired new painting

Last week I was fortunate to witness one of the prettiest full moons rising at the beach. SO, I painted the scene to recapture the magic I experienced. The photo is attached and as you can see, I used artistic liberties. “Pink Moon Rising” is 24×36″ gallery wrap.

The Pier at Night~Ocean Painting ready to display

I had completed a ocean landscape like this a couple years ago and it has hung on my wall in the entryway. I always enjoyed the feeling of watching a full moon break through clouds at the ocean and wanted to put more perspective to the landscape. So I put the pier and moonlight reflecting on the water. My style is evolving to be more expressionistic and instead of blending my brushstrokes for more realism, I am leaving the little globs of paint with the bright highlights as accents. This painting is a gallery wrap 1.5" thick so is not intended to have a frame. It is 20" by 60" tall and is for sale. It is not at a gallery so make an appointment to come by to see in person. "Pier in the Moonlight".

TaDah! New mermaid painting just completed

The unveiling of a new mermaid painting: "Under a Crescent Moon" is 48x36" and is a gallery wrap so no frame is necessary. Being quite large, this would be wonderful in a living room, den or formal dining room. Sometimes it is hard to know when a painting is completed and once the final varnish is set, more difficult to make changes. I was going to make the hands more distinct and complete but then, having them softer and more painterly gives more focus to the face and other details. Hope you like it! Prints are available through me or through www.linda-olsen.artistwebsites.com

Newest oceanscape painting just finished

A few weeks ago I completed a similar painting that was 18x36 (which has since SOLD) and as I was completing it, I thought of making it much larger and adding the reflection on the shore as well as making the moon full. It is 20x60" and is available for sale.

Neptune Beach Lifeguard headquarters

I live in this lovely little "island" peninsula of Neptune Beach. This is an image I took while shooting a wedding at One Ocean. I then hand tinted the image. Love the little moon peeping out from the palm. Purchasing fine art prints online is easy.http://linda-olsen.artistwebsites.com/
