Newest Abstract Painting

I finished this painting for Gallery 725's next showing called EARTH. This painting is called "Continental Divide" and describes the shifts in the earth with all of the elements working for and against each other. Nature continues to force changes that are in the natural order and the dynamics and energy surrounding each minute change affects other dynamic changes. It is a large piece--48" wide by 36" tall.

Vibrancy

"Vibrancy" is my newest abstract with the theme of Earth Elements. FOr weeks I have been working on this and it has changed many times until finally, it all came together depicting the energy of nature, the vibrancy of the minerals and the layers of sediments that we call the earth. When looking at rocks and crystals, you will see patterns and colors. This gallery wrap painting is 40x30" and does not need a frame. It is for sale and hopefully be in Gallery 725's show next month (if I don't sell it first). I am excited about how this turned out so I hope you are liking it as well. Thanks for reading my blog. If you know anyone who is interested in signing up to get my artwork updates, please let them know about me. Its difficult being an artist so the more exposure the better.

Middle Earth

"Middle Earth" is 24x48 and will be framed. It was painted on a hard wood panel. I started it 2 months ago and it has taken on a life of its own..rather like nature. The rock cores and dense soil of earth's core was the inspiration. AS an abstract, I can find many areas to get lost in. Let me know if you are interested in this painting.

Fourth Abstract in Reflections series

This is the fourth abstract painting in the Reflections series. I have been working on this series for 2 months and have enjoyed the challenge of exploring new textures and mediums to create the illusion of reflections on water. This one is 24 x 48" and I really like the little glints and sparkling highlights on the water. Working this large takes a lot more paint and energy and after each session that I painted, I noticed my shoulders and back were sore. Its called artWORK for a reason...its difficult, exciting, enjoyable, and challenging. Each piece took many many hours and days of creative decisions, glazing, brush strokes, blending, erasing, inventing....

The kiss

I started this very large painting in the 80's. It was originally an abstract and I noticed an area in the blue area that looked like lovers kissing. I had put it away and earlier this year, I decided to work on it again and it went through several stages (the photo on the right). Then over Thanksgiving week, I started to work on it again and it became "The Quilt". See above. It is 46 x 66" which is taller than me. What are your thoughts?
